"That's a huge ship, this is what I want" - no can do. Guess why Jack Sparrow had the redcoats prep the ship he then stole - not enough men to get the sails up or down in time. Also: Big ships are not very maneuverable. A brigg is nice enough.

Aside from Ezio series this is my favorite Assassin's creed game. Pour the Rum and show me that horizon ! I also love how this one has no tutorial to show you what those blackbird icons mean.

Dead bodies will alert enemies. Carrying bodies allows you to hide them away from view. In addition to areas shaded in red being restricted, many roof tops are as well. Basically you need to remain out of sight of guards. And whatever you do, don't kick the goats. 🐐

woo hoo!! Part 2!!! , Goat!! as for the lyrics you can either look them up on the menu or maybe if you turn on close captions? idk if that's an option in the menu. The sea shanties are awesome though, makes sailing and getting materials to improve the ship more fun or if you're trying to 100% the game.

When in an open fight, wait for an attack, block it, perform execution, which will give you a one shot streak for any other enemy present, except for the big brutes. You have to always break their defense first or use pistols, or smoke bombs. Nice playthrough, keep it up! :)

Hi, Great that you discovered this gem of a game :) If you want to explain some of the mechanics that you struggle with, here is a bit of explanation (they are explained better in the 1st and 2nd games). After all, AC Black Flag is arguably the least Assassin game of the old style AC games (before Origins), and mainly focuses on Pirating. But it is one of the best games of the series Gameplay wise. Those enemies on the roofs are guards that protect the place from robbers that would use roofs for approach, and since honest citizens does not go there, you are immediate suspect. Those blue dots on minimap while you are in combat are hiding places that you can use to lose pursuers (mainly haystacks), but enemies WILL search them if you hide in the yellow circle area of search (again, shown on minimap as yellow underlayer). Sidemissions (like those from pigeon), should be done ASAP when you activate them, but should be available to start anytime. And the Viewpoints are great for fast travel + they reveal the nearby area for better navigation on minimap (in older games, you would not even get sidequests or location of treasures unless you synced the viewpoint first). No pirate game has ever gotten close to Black Flag or any game that has ship combat in it. Just a shame I suck at stealth because otherwise I'd love the AC games

Fun to see you playing this classic game. Few tips in future play. You can also get down from high places by controlled climbing down, no need to drop down. When storm hits on open sea and you get warning about big waves. Sail straight towards them to escape ship damage. Unfortunately you have to take part on killing animals from whales to lesser critters, but they are digital. But do not get after whales and big sharks until you have fully upgraded your whaling boat.
